Exclamation Comp Wont Load :(

when i turn on my pc a black screen come up saying we are sorry for the incomvience ,but windows did not stat successfully. a recent hardware or software change might have caused this.
then it goes on to explain all of the options you have which are...
safe mode
safe mode with networking
safe mode with command prompt
last known good config(most recent setting that workded)
start windows normally
and when you click on any of them they all come up with the same result it goes to the windows xp loading thing and then the screen flashes blue it says something but its to fast to read and then it truns off and goes back to the black screen with the error.
idk whats wrong with it

Did you add any new parts or programs to your PC?

If that screen has the option to disable restart on error, choose that - and then read the bluescreen.

Does it HAVE disable restart on error? If so, it should freeze on the bluescreen. It SHOULD be a choice if you have XP SP2.

What makes you think the harddrive is dead?
If it is dead don't throw it away it may still be possible to get some of your files back?
Do you have another harddrive you can install Windows on?

Do you feel confident enough to remove the faulty harddrive from the machine it is in and fit it as a slave harddrive in the machine you are on now?

The other option is remove it and use a USB adapter to get the files off it. That way you don't have to open up the "good" computer.

Yes, you can then copy what files you want to that pc, put the hard drive back in the other comp, and try a repair install.
