Cannot export messages from Outlook Express

Hi, I'm trying to save a BUNCH of old emails, like maybe 300, and whenever I try to Export my messages, I first recieve a windows saying:

This will export messages from Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchage.

So I click "OK", then I get another window telling me:

The export could not be performed. An error occured while initializing MAPI.

Who in the world is MAPI and why is he giving me all this troulbe?

Seriously though, I can't figure it out. I exported my addesses without any trouble at all, and I was able to do this the last time I bought a new harddrive and wanted to save my email, but now I'm baffled. Windows XP Home SP 2

Thanks for any ideas, Mark.

Seek out and Copy your .dbx files which are the original source files while OE is shutdown...You can copy them to another machine for example and use the File->Import function to retrive them.

WOW, found all the .dbx files in C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{68258E68-A32B-426B-98FC-E8E151E111D0}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Was unable to Import them, so I simply copied and pasted the files into the new harddrive.

Now the only thing I lost was the 10 messages I revieced over the last 2 days.

Many thanks!!
