Error mesage in Divice manager

Got this error mesage in manage/ Divice manager.

Driver missing but cant figure out what driver it is?

Can you help?

Could be the on-board sound drivers are not installed or are corrupt. Check in "sound,video and game controllers" to see if the AC '97 sound is listed or the particular brand it is.

Well that looks ok to me. Note everything is working fine on my PC, I'm just curious as to why I'm getting this error

You have the Sound Blaster installed but don't see anything for on-board. I have the same Multimedia error on a machine in which I never installed the on-board sound drivers.

Have you got an old dial-up internal modem in that machine?

No I'm on cable

I have seen that fault after an old dial-up modem has been removed.

Have you tried simply uninstalling it in Device Manager?
Have you disabled onboard sound in the BIOS?
