DAT file in my cookies??
I had to delete all my cookies because of tracking cookies, but this DAT file will not delete.
Should I be concerned? Thanks Last edited by john ranger; 06-17-2008 at 09:54 AM. |

The index file is part of Windows and can't be deleted. Don't know why that program in the second screen shot is calling cookies "viruses"... Tracking cookies can be good things, like when you visit Newegg and the like. No you shouldn't be concerned over the index.dat file.

If you want to clear out the index.dat, CCleaner does that for you.
