Arrange desktop icons by name doesnt work
I thought I would make it easier for myself and rename the shortcut icons on my desktop so as they could be easily recognized if listed alphabetically. After re-naming them so I knew what program each icon represented, I right clicked the desktop and clicked "arrange icons by" and then clicked "name" and presto. They re-arranged alright but not in alphabet order. Just random although some of the icons that started with the same letter were together, others were not.
I still have to search through the icons to find the program I want to launch. Is there a little program that I can download to do this properly or did I do something wrong. oops forgot to mention, I am using Windows XP Home

Why don't you just drag them to where you want them? Don't foget to untick that says "run desktop wizard" afterwards.

Thanks Hohanna, I think I might take you advice and do just that.
