First off, are you doing a clean re-installation? Or are you just wanting to repair an existing problem with your current WindowsXP?
Secondly, what type of XP disc do you have? Is it a full copy, an upgrade version, or is it just a recovery disc from a manufacturer? Last, make sure that before you begin you've backed everything of value up to a different location. Follow THIS link for a step-by-step using an upgrade CD of the XP installation disc. If you have a full version, the only thing different should be the fact that it won't ask you for your original qualifying product.
