only boots into safe mode
So, I had one user laptop, HP NC6120. bout one year old get coffee spilled on it.
He said it was just the under panel and it didnt spill directly on it. but it kept running nonetheless. after a restart the system wont load XP. It gets stuck on the loading screen.....but doesnt get stuck. It just stays trying to load and never finishes. bar just keeps going and going. BUT it does boot into safe mode with no problems. I know I can try to do a repair with XP but coul this possibly be the effects of coffee getting into the MB?

Could be mobo contamination or it could be the keyboard failed. That would explain the loading hang up - it's looking for the keyboard and not getting proper recognition. Kinda tuff to swap parts to find the faulty one(s) on a laptop but I'd lean toward the kbd.

If the keyboard failed, I don't think you would be able to get into safe mode.
