Windows Xp Pro CD KEY help
Im trying to install Windows Xp Pro. on a different computer and i have the Setup Disk but I lost my reg. cd key. There anyway to get that? I know how to get it from the system im using now but since i built a new computer and the hard drive im using wont work with new computer, I need to put new OS on the other one so I need the cd key.

Since you can only install XP on one pc->Do you have TWO cd keys and lost both?

Ok the computer im using now is an HP computer so I cant use the hard drive in this one with new computer, wont work i was told because its like binded or what not to the bios of the HP. So thats out. But I want to put XP pro on this other hard drive since I have to put a new OS on it in order for it to work. So I have the CD but I lost the cd key. So I was wondering if there was a way to get it, or am I going to have to buy a new OS?

Exactly where did you get this copy of XP Pro? Did you buy it or did it come with the HP?

i bought it a while ago for another pc, but never had to use it, i lost the cd key thouhg...

If the copy of XP has not been used before and you have lost the the key code, your pretty much out of luck though you can buy a new key.
