locked out of partition in XP
Just had a phone call from a friend and wasn't able to help him. He is running XP on a laptop computer and has the hard drive partitioned. The computer boots up okay but when he tries to access his "D" partition on the hard drive, it comes up that it is locked and he gets the picture of a lock on the screen.
everything runs okay apart from the fact he cannot get into this partition. He doesnt remember what he was doing before this happened so not much help there. Any suggestions guys. Cant give you more information cos this is all he has told me.

That sounds like a hardware lock. He is probably going to have to contact the notebook manufacturer.
