Can't Open IE6
My buddy has an older PC (Dell) PIII with Win2Kpro, 256M RAM, which he just uses to surf and get eMail. Recently when he went to open IE6 he received the following error message>
"The dll msvcrl.dll could not be found in the specified path C:\prog files\Internet Expl........;" And IE does not open. I'm not sure he's reading the message to me (over the phone) correctly, but I need a place to start. He said he tried the Explorer repair in Control Panel/AddRemove Programs but it didn't work and he still receives the above error message whenever he tries to open IE. Any tips or advice? Thanks. 1. Download the IE6 setup file.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en 2. Uninstall IE6. This is one of the 3 options when you do an add/remove, it will revert it to IE 5.01. 3. Reinstall IE6 using what you downloaded. |
