Adjusting icons in Win98SE

What's a good program to make the icons transparent like WinXP in Win98SE? Also, how do I get rid of that underline under each icon? Thanks.

To get rid of the underline you have to turn off single-click. In folder options, change it from Web back to Classic style.

Hi jacatone, Hi glc

For the transparency trick - you need a third-party applet to help with that. I've used "See Thru" at different times in the past, & it works just fine - - - and I've heard good reviews on "Iconoid" as well.
Here are links to those two:
SeeThru --- http://www.download.com/SeeThru/3000...ml?tag=lst-0-1
Iconoid --- http://www.download.com/Iconoid/3003...ml?tag=tab_rev
___________

Or - By Tweaking the Desktop "Appearance" settings (without the aid of third-party applets) ->
If you don't use an image for your background, but just a color - you can make the icons seem to be transparent by matching your Desktop color to the text box color of the icon (you can alter both of those in the Appearance tab in Windows 9x "Display" Properties -- right-click an empty spot on your desktop & choose "Properties", or go to Control Panel/Display/Appearance). For "Wallpaper" & "Pattern", choose "None".

If your desktop wallpaper image has a large area of blue sky or blue water (or a large area of any color) - you can also try to match that color as well.

Best of luck
. . . Gary
