Getting your IP address in DOS and Windows

There are at least three ways to get your IP address in DOS that I know of :

Open a DOS window and use the following commands :

netstat -an

Your IP address will be below the 0.0.0.0 local adresses to the right of TCP.
Gives you the current status of any online TCP or UDP connections
i.e. local IP and port number and remote IP and port number.

winipcfg

Select the appropriate network adaptor and info is displayed below this.

ipconfig /all

If you type any of the commands above followed by a space character and then ?
you will get a list of all command line options etc.

To get your IP in your web browser (many ways) go to :

https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

Your host name and IP address are listed towards the bottom of the page.

Proceed and you can test how good your firewall is
(file sharing/netbios etc).
