64 bit xp

I would like to know if I install 64 bit XP on one of my computers would I be able to use like all the programs and drivers I use with 32 bit or would they not work. I'm asking this because I would like to use 4gigs of RAM which 32bit XP cannot handle.

Programs yes, drivers no. You would need special 64-bit drivers.

However, I think you are mistaken in your premises as the 32-bit version of Windows can handle up to 4 GB of memory.

It can SEE 4gb but it can only address about 3.2gb of it. The rest is addressed by the hardware.

They are more widely available now than in the past. I've been using it for over a year and I found drivers for just about everything. If you have any special hardware, check with the manufacturer, but 64-bit drivers for motherboards, video cards, most newer printers, etc. exist.
