Ghosting windows

A friend of mine gave me a Hiren's disk. It has all kinds of boot utilities and such on it. I would like to reformat my hard drive and install everything on a partition with a ghost program. I have no idea how to use the ghost program as it has no instructions in it. I know how to create a partition with the windows xp disk. Do I create a partition and then use the ghost program in the windows environment to copy the hard disk to the partition that I have created? Or do I boot up the computer with the disk and created the partition through the ghost program itself?

Teamo, unfortunately we can't support the use of Hiren's boot CD on our forums, as the software included on it is illegal. Take a look at this Wikipedia article for details. If you were to get hold of some legit cloning software (I recommend Acronis), we can help you with the specifics. Thanks for understanding.
