Password Question
I've recently intalled Wk2 Server on my network and all of my Win98 clients are logging into it.
I've changed the Domain Level password policy so now I can reset all accounts to Change Password at Next Login to start enforcing the new policy. When I do this the new domain password policy works fine but after I log into the network using the new password I then get a Windows password dialog box. Here I can either click cancel to bypass or type in my old password to log on. What I would prefer is for this Windows password dialog box to not come up at all. Initially I went to Control Panel|Passwords and checked the box that enables you to use the same password for Windows and the network. But after I changed my network password again I was back to square one where I had to either click cancel at this box or type in my old password to get by. Thanks for any help. Wanabe |

On each windows 98 machine, go delete all files with the extension of PWL. (Search for *.pwl) Then, reboot the machine. Log on to the machine with the users login and password, when the windows login box comes up, blank the password and click OK. From then on, there will only be the one password box that comes up unless you change the username, in which the windows password box will come up again. Always blank it.
