Need a good registry cleaner

Anyone know of a good (free) registry cleaner?

My son recently bought a new game (Command and Conquer 3) and the copy protection on the disk will not let the game install correctly. Actually the DVD drive won't even recognize the DVD. The EA game site states a possible reason for this is a conflict between the new copy protection on the DVD and programs such as Alcohol 120% and Daemon Tools. They say even if the programs have been uninstalled, any registry entry can prevent the disk from working properly.

My son, being a teenager, downloads anything that looks good from the internet. I did a search of the registry and found some references to Daemon and Alcohol 120%, although he does not currently have those programs installed.

I remember running a registry cleaner on my machine several years ago and it found all those registry entries that no longer had programs installed for them. Just trying anything at this point to see if I can get this $50 game to work.

Try CCleaner. Very popular recommendation here - and it's free.

I use Registry Mechanic Pro but there is a free version of it. It repairs your registry by deleting old, unused files left in the registry.

Advanced Windows Care is also a good program, and is available free.
