did a restore and delted everything but its still there help!!!

So, i messed up my registry and i had a few otehr reasons for doing this, but i put in my OS disc, and 2 options came up, one was a complete destruction and reinstall, and the other was to save everythign, but change the settings. I clicked that one, and when it finished, the PC looked like i got it, it had nothing. But then when i went to my computer to check my hard drive space, it says the same as before, so the stuff i had before is still on my pc, so how do i get back to it? I cannot connect to the internet and some other problems now, and im really mad i want my pc to work agian. thanks.
