PC running very slow at times

Sometimes the response of my PC is very slow. I've run SpyBot a few times and there doesn't seem to be any spyware running.

I've run disk clean and defragmenter. Got Windows XP updates.

Sometimes I can't close open windows, it seems like there is some congestion happening. I usually end up rebooting and things get better for a while.

I was considering a registry cleaner. Are these products any good?

Is there anything else I should try/consider?

Try CCleaner. It's free and they don't use hype to try to sell you the software to do the actual cleaning.

A very good registry repairer I use is Registry Mechanic. I think they have a free version but I have the professional version. It finds about on average 25 problems at the end of the day and repairs no problem.

I used CCleaner last night, so far everything seems to be working better. Slugishness is gone. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thats good news. I'd just like to remind you to not click on those ADs about computer repair and such. If you need a good software for anything computer-wise, come ask us.
