Tune-Up Software for XP?
I run XP Pro on a Dell Inspiron 8600; lately it's been getting rather sluggish (slow boots, slow to load apps). My Norton AV 2006 is up to date and indicates no malware. I've recently removed software I don't use, run disk clean-up and defragged. Could anyone recommend an economical tune up package that might uncover some unnecessary baggage in my registry or any other isssues that might be affecting my performance?

Check out CCleaner. http://www.ccleaner.com/
And Norton itself could very well be the cause for the slowdown. It is a resource hog and can cause all sorts of issues. You may want to remove it and see if that helps. A forum search will show plenty of instances where Norton removal clears up all kinds of issues.
