What is Time Executable??

XP pro, 1.5 Gig RAM, 100GB HD
Ran usual Norton & anti spam pgm, as I do every Sat. Opened WORD and each time I print, an extra long time passes before the file prints, then I got "Time Executable has encountered a problem and needs to close." I tried to find some info, but nothing of any help. I checked and updated XP, Office, reinstalled print driver, ran a registry cleaner, etc. but each time I reboot, I get the same error message. I've clicked on DEBUG, but no help. I tried earlier to use system restore to go back to yesterday, but it wouldn't restore. By the way--why use Sys Restore, if you can't restore? Computer seems to run OK, it's just that this error keeps coming up everytime I reboot and when I print. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Do you have a Lexmark printer? If so I would try to remove the printer and see if you still get the error. If you don't then I would make sure that you have the correct driver and reinstall the printer.

mairving,
you must have had similar problems--how did you guess I had a Lexmark? Although I had reinstalled the driver earlier, I followed your suggestions to delete and then reinstall. Worked!!! Thanks. Still don't know what that Time Executable thing is.

You might want to run CHKDSK and see if it reports any errors.

Yep, one too many Lexmarks for me. I think that the Time executable is a file that the Lexmarks use to sync time on the printers.
