defragmenter program
I read somewhere in these forums that windows disk defragmenter is not that great and that you should use a 3rd party program for this. Are there any good free defragmenter programs someone could recommend? thanks

Other than the built in defragger, the only one I've seen recommended it Disk Keeper and Disk Keeper Lite. I just use the built in one myself. Vista's defrag runs automatically now.

Diskeeper works quite well. Its quick and does a pretty good job.

The only problem with Diskeeper is that it disables Windows Defrag & does not run in Safe Mode for a more through job. Les

I recently uninstalled Diskeeper Premium for different reasons. It took the original Disk Defragmenter away. It is annoying how it runs in Safe Mode and doesn't tell you the percent left. I also tried another one but forgot the name that wasn't so great. I would just stick to the Windows one, it's not all that bad.
