major boot problem

after trying to install ubuntu linux as a third os on my wd sata hard drive.

well ubuntu didnt install correctly for some reason and i guess it must have messed up my mbr????

i boot my pc and it comes up with a boot failure. so i go to repair it with the xp disk but when i try to load the sata drivers it says something about "si3112r.sys caused an error" so the drivers for my hd never get installed and i never get to see the hd to re-install windows.

its been driving me nuts for the past few hours.

what do i do?

ive searched all over and tried many things but cant figure it out. im about to lose my mind.

have you tried not using the xp repair and just booting from the disk then formating the drive and then installing xp?

yes i have, but i cant install the drivers needed for xp to see the sata hd. it says something like "si3112r.sys caused an error" i dont why the drivers arent working because they have always worked before. i have formatted the drive many times. drive image 7.0 says the same thing when trying to load the drivers.
