Problem with Display Properties

Weird problem...

When I go to open up my display properties from the desktop popup menu it gives me this error.

But when I go to the display properties through the Control Panel it does not do that.

I've never seen that one before. Some type of path corruption. Have you done all the normal Malware scans? Have you installed any new software or hardware recently? I'm assuming this is on the machine in your sig and it's been running for a while as opposed to a newly built pc.

Don't quite understand. I think maybe my hard drive was extremely fragmented. I did a defrag before bed lastnight... and was just coincidentally went to my disp. props. and it worked. So perhaps that may of been it. ??

It's just one of those things that make you go 'huh?'. I never worry about those things unless they happen over and over.

Funny though I have some software at work that does the exact same thing. When you open the .exe it searches for a duplicate .exe file. If there is a zip drive on a computer that error pops up.

I got it one time after the other... kept trying to see if it would stop.. never did. No restarts at all. Just a simple defrag.

Mairving - yeah im the same way, if it happens once and just here and there or whatever.. i just write it off as a fluke.
