Program Association

I downloaded MSN Hotmail and created an icon on my Desktop however, when I click on the icon, I get this message:

"This file does not have a program associated with it performing this action. Create an association in Folder Option control panel".

I did that but in the Folder Option, I'm not sure what to do next. Most of the stuff in there have icon and "NONE" on them. Can anyone walk me thru to the process. Or is there any better way of loading browsers (Yahoo, MSN, Internet Explorers, etc) that I can create icons for easy access?

donsor: What exactly did you download? MSN Hotmail isn't a downloadable program .. it is a web based email service. It is not a downloadable program.

What do you mean by "..better way of loading browsers (Yahoo, MSN, Internet Explorers etc)... are you looking to create browser shortcuts for Yahoo that will open up in your browser and go to Yahoo?

Sorry if I was not clear.
I've been trying to download MSN Explorer but everytime I get this message stating to the effect that MSN is sorry that it is unable to continue due to internal problem. I e-mail MSN support if waht the problem is with the browser. Nonetheless, I am using MSN Hotmail but the only way I know to get to it is by going to Search. No problem with My Yahoo mail. Is there any way I can get the MSN Hotmail in the Internet Explorer task bar?
