password protecting individual folders?
I use a shared compter at home and would like to password protect some folders in Windows XP Home so they cannot be tampered with. From what I understand this can be done one of 2 ways: Compressing the files first or going to tool/options/security (or something like that). I would rather not compress the files as I will be adding to the folders often and as far as I have read, when using the other method, you have to us that password to logon to Windows as well - again something I would rather not have to do. Does anyone know of a simple freeware program that will allow you to password protect individual folders? I dont need or even want anything very fancy.
