annoying message
My Logitech optical cordless mouse is working great fror a year, but lately I get a message upon start up that the drivers are not installed. How can I eliminate that message? I did insert the cd & re-install the drivers but XP is still not happy.

Did you try a fresh set of batteries?

Logitech has great support and I think they have a 2 or 3 year warranty. I'd contact them for a solution and chances are they would replace the mouse for free if they think it's defective.

Thanks. I tried fresh batteries and looked for driver updates on Logitech's site, but nothing. The mouse works great so it must be happy with therivers.

You do not even need drivers if all you need is 2 buttons and a scroll wheel - the default Windows generic mouse drivers provide that functionality.

That's what I'm using, the XP drivers but I want to get rid of the annoying "new hardware found" message on start-up.

Go into device mangler and delete the mouse - reboot.

That's what I did but it kept discovering the Logitech mouse and asking for drivers. I solved the problem by deleting the Logitech mouse and when it rebooted & asked for drivers I installed it as a regular PS2 mouse(even though it's cordless),XP installed the generic drivers and all seems well. Thanks guys for your help.
