Random Reboot: Can't Open Minidump file with Windows Debugging Tool
I'm not sure if I should have posted this in the Hardware section but since I just installed the Debugging Tool for Windows and am totally clueless how to use it, I guess I should start here.
My new build is just less than one month old (specs below) and, other than some first build growing pains, my system has been running free of problems. But there was a random reboot shortly after turning on my PC this morning. I forgot to uncheck the "Automatically Restart" option in the Advanced tab. The info given in the event viewer is in the attachment I tried to open the MiniDump file in Windows using the Windows Debugging Tool but got the mesage that "Your Debugger is not using the correct symbols" Debugger pic #1 Debugger Pic #2 I'm trying to figure out what the source of the reboot might have been but I don't know what I'm supposed to open the Minidump file with. I opened it using the Debugger with File/Open Crash Dump but got the message posted above. I plan on running Memtest86 overnight this evening. I have not made any hardware changes and have not had any blue screens. I'm using the older 96.89 nVidia drivers because they're the only 8800 drivers that allow me to turn off scaling for my widescreen monitor. I see at the bottom of Debugger message: "Probably caused by nv4_disp.dll.." so I wonder if the cause of the reboot is the display driver. I've been using the 96.89 drivers for almost two weeks now without any reboots-till now. Can someone tell me how to open the Minidump file properly? Since the reboot occured before I installed the Debugging Tool, is it not possible to open this file? Can Minidump files only be opened if the Debugging Tool is already installed? Or is there nothing else I can check for until I get another BSOD now that I've unchecked the "Automatically Restart" box? Thanks in advanced

I would uninstall and re-install the card. Your system and application logs should provide more clues if the problem persists.
