Getting rid of the Guest Account
I really have no use for this Guest Account that XP creates and I was wondering if there is any way to get rid of it. By that I mean is there any way to edit the registry or do something so it isn't even listed in the accounts section. I know you can enable or disable it, but I would rather have it not even show up.

I don't believe you can "delete" the guest account, at least not without know a fair amount about Windows internals. However, there is really no need to remove the account. Personally I would rather disable the account and give all other users limited accounts to login, that way the guest account shouldn't cause any problems.

Can't say that I would delete it but:
Right click My Computer->Manager->Local Useers and Groups->Users->Right click on the Guest acct and select Delete.

Isn't there an option to delete yet save all the files?

No real reason to Delete the Guest Account. Just go to the User Accounts and turn it Off. If you're bothered by the sign in option and just want to go directly to your own user screen, you need to remove the password requirement. Run>control userpasswords2 and uncheck the box that requires all user to use a password to log on. The remaining steps will be self evident.

I prefer to have my computer looking trim and tidy. And I have no use for the Guest Account. I have no use for the picture or the words that go along with it. All I need on my PC is the administrator and then one other user. But I may choose to keep it on there anyway just in case deleting might screw something up.

I'm having the same problem. I wish to get rid of the Guest Account plus one other. I tried to go the suggested path but I am not seeing the path described. Any other options?
