gateway laptop really slow on startup
ok my laptop is only about 6 months old and it's performance hasn't been down at all i've kept it up to date on maintenance but the only problem is that on start up it take about 2 min around to load the desktop icons and tool bar to do anything before that i just see my background and i cant do anything. I've used several startup editing programs and have only made what was essential which is like four things to launch at start up but still ridiculously slow can anyone help?

Has it done this since it was new?

no it started like two or three months ago i never gave it any thoguht but its been anoying me lately i run webroot spysweeper regularly and use trend micro for anti-virus both uptodate.

Have you tried ccleaner? It's a free download from www.download.com.
This will clean up a lot of stuff not normally caught by using the regular clean-up tools in Windows XP. -Kev |
