Can't seem to correct modem driver

I'm running WinXP Pro. I have a Broadcom v90 56k PCI modem. After a reinstall, Dell tech support game me the driver for the BCM v92 modem which installed OK but runs real slow. I've found the correct v90 driver but when I uninstall the v92 driver and install the v90, it just reverts back to the v92 driver. How do I remove this wrong driver permanently? Thanks.
