XP Home Edition installation error
Hello
While re-installing Windows XP Home Edition on a Dell Dimension Computer I get the error "Setup cannot copy the file: ftdisk.sys I see the file under the old backed up files C:\Windows\System32\drivers but I have no idea how it will appear on the install cd as it seems to be a compressed file I would imagine. Thanks for any help Dave Last edited by y2kman; 05-04-2007 at 07:08 PM. |

Many times, errors like this are due to a dirty cd or cd drive...

Yep, the computer's been collecting dust for what seems to be centuries so I swapped my cd temporarily just to get the job done.
I was getting errors on several files. At the time of this writing the installation is now passed that stage so hopefully no more errors. Thanks a lot dave |
