Can't Install O/S on Hard Drive
Okay i have a a Asus A8V Motherboard and i use to have windows on my sATA hard drive and something happened so i did a bunch of things. And now i have my O/S on a ATA hard drive and i was going to put it back on to my sATA. My sATA does work on my computer cause i just put it in and i can put files onto it in windows. But when i go to install windows XP MCE it is reconized but when i do the format on windows it says like it can't be done. So i partioned it myself and tried it that way it installed windows. But when i turned on computer to run windows off that hard drive it goes to just a blank screen and nothing happens. Please help me ive been having a lot of trouble with it and i can't find out what to do.

try disconnecting the ata drive and have sata as the primary drive. you might also try and delete the ata drive.

Please post the complete system specs for this computer. List the parts by brand and model including the power supply.
Have you tested the SATA HDD with the manufacturer's diagnostic utility yet? The SATA HDD may have developed bad clusters in the boot sector.  Cricket

PSU - Hiper Type-R , RAM - Mushkin D400 , Videocard - ATA Radeon 9800XT , Processor - Amd 3200+ , Motherboard - Asus A8V
If i do have a bad cluster is there a way to fix that or no. |
