Can XP do this like 98 could?

Back in the day... I could take a shortcut and drag it to the bar on the bottom of my desktop and the apps icon would go there and I could start it when I had my browser open and the desktop wasn't visible...

Now, with XPee it only shows 3 icons and then hides the rest. Well, I don't want them hidden I want them right there where I can see them without doing a bunch of gorram clicking, thank you, Microsoft, very much!

Soooo, does anyone know how I can arrange this?

TIA

You're probabltalking about the "Quick Launch Bar."
Right click on the Task Bar and select UNLOCK. Then you can drag the Quick bar and make it larger.
