hello. here i go again. just want to make sure. i am going to reinstall windows and i want to know if i save the files or appliactions or move them to an external hard drive so i can reinstall them to the clean os system?

With your personal files (pictures, videos, music, documents) there won't be any problem if you do the back up you can move wherever you want, but with the applications (programs) I think you just cannot move them like that unles you use a program like Norton Ghost. I would suggest you to save your files to the external hard drive and install your programs in your old Dell (windows Xp, media players,etc...)
