laptop issue

Here's my problem:

My work laptop has Windows XP Pro loaded. When I am on the road, I like to watch DVD movies on it. My problem is that whle I am watching the movie, the screen goes back to the log on screen, locking up my desktop. When I try to change the power settings in the control pane there is no reference to the setting. I do not see anywhere where I can change or add the screen saver settings. What should I do?

Have you checked the power settings? Usually you can do it by going to Control Panel > Power Options. You can create a new Power Scheme calling Movie that does not take your computer to standby or turn off the monitor. Sometimes laptops come with proprietary applets for power configuration (depends on the mfger) check your control panel for such an applet.
Your screensaver options should be in the Display Properties applet.
