Reboot my Laptop

I have a HP laptop, window xp professional and I want to try rebooting to maybe get my internet to start working again. I remember the seller would hold one of the F buttons and it would automatically reboot and install everything without using the reboot disk...I tried doing it after I got it and it works, but now I can't remember.
