Virtual PC Question
If I have a laptop and want to make the current environment and all installed programs into a virtual pc image so that I can take and use on another machine, is that possible? Or do I need to create a virtual machine on my pc and install everything to be just like what I have on the laptop?
Here is what I'm trying to do in case you have other suggestions. My company gives us a laptop and it has a certain "COE" image that we must have. They do SMS updates and things like that so we can only access their network with a pc that passes the COE test. I want to use my home pc for everything including work but need to fake it out somehow. I tried setting up remote desktop but as part of the coe image, that is disable on the laptop and greyed out so it can't even be changed. It says it is controlled by group policy. Anyone have suggestions for me? |

It's kind of against the rules here to help you circumvent your company’s policies…
But, you can install Virtual PC. You will then have to install another OS. (must have new keycode for it) Within the new OS you can install what ever you want..

Yes, I know I can do that. I was just wondering if I could take my laptop image as a whole and move it to a virtual pc. I'm working with one of our IT guys to see if I can set up remote desktop as #1 option.
