Over the uop install of Win98

How can I do an over the top install of Win98 when the BIOS boots only from A: then C: and the Win 98 SE disk can not load properly because I messed up the extended memory command?

Copy the setup files from the cd to your harddrive (depending on who installed it, it may already be there) the run the setup from the harddrive.

Thanks Sgtspector... I can boot to C: but can not get the CD Rom drive D: to work unless I can get Windows working. The cab files are not on the hard drive. I have tried booying from different boot disks, but I can get to the A: dribe , but not D:.

I tried to save the existing programs, but am finally going to fdisk from A: then it will let me use the Win 98 start up disk and get the cd rom working so I can at least loasd Windows. Thanks

Create Boot Disk with CDrom support?

You can't change the boot order in your bios? If u google Windows Boot Disk you can find one with cdrom support...oakcdrom.sys, BTcdrom.sys. There is a bunch here:

Remove the hard drive, slave it into a working computer (or use a USB adapter) and dump the cab files from the CD.
