Can't reset Read Only
Greetings!
I have a Windows XP machine with a slight problem. I got a CD from a family member with important data on it. However, the data once off the CD refuses to leave the read only mode. The read only check box has a solid green box and regardless of how I try to change it, solomnly refuses to budge. I have also tried using the Attrib command with the same lack of success. Any ideas? |

For grins, right click on one of the files and select Rename and see if you can rename it. If it works then the files themselves aren't read only.

The folders have not changed, but the files do not have the read only option checked. That sucks. I still can't get the program to work correctly. It must be something else.
Thanks for everyones help. |
