Wont boot up only on reset

When I try to boot up the hard drives come on and all I get is a black screen. If I press Reset on the tower all is good. Can you help me with that?

Thanks

Not sure why but something in the back of my head finds this familiar, it sounds like a switching fault in the PSU, have you got another PSU you can swap in to test?
Have you tried the obvious BIOS reset?

Excellent, nice cheap solution if it does the job.

edit...just a thought, try leaving it unplugged from the mains electricity over night, then the next time you boot it up check the clock and date settings, if they are wrong you may have a faulty motherboard battery.

Can you tell me in detail what you did to reset the BIOS and what you did before and after the problem came back?

Well i reset Bios to normal or stock settings, then I changed the Bios to my specs for booting up and stuff. That's all.

The problem never went away

Thats a pity John.
Do you have access to a spare power supply you can swap in just to test?

That is a good quality power supply, it will be a shame if it has let you down.
