Exclamation How do I stop NV Ad from openning during startup?

Just installed WindowsXP on fresh new build. XP boots fine.
1) Problem is when desktop window opens so does NVida Ad in my firefox browser and a warning popup from a little video card icon in my task bar warning SLI option has been disabled.. I don't have a SLI Video Card and the Ad in my browser is for SLI. Video Card is an MSI NX7300LE.

2) Security or Health Center opens up warning me that I am not protected from viruses... I did install AVAST Home Edition. This Center window says FireWall is on... Windows Auto Update is Off and PC is not protected from Viruses.

3) I got frustrated and went to Microsoft for updates... Dummie me I let MS scan my OS for authenticity... and the key came up as a bulk key that is blocked. I got the OS from a friend that works with computers.

So I let MS download something into my OS for this authenticity thing. I Want to Remove what ever MS installed. Don't know what was installed just the date and time.

Do I need this 'PC Health Center Window"? How do I remove it?

How do remove that auto advertising from NVida and what could it be named?

I am thinking the startup stuff has to be in MSCONFIG.. but what are the file names to look for? Thanks

kev7555, are pcmech moderators now policing MS Authenticity Codes? My copy of XP is authentic, as is my brother's new Vista OS on a newly bought HP Machine and authenticity was again questioned. I will not go near Vista because of their authenticating methods which are invasive and often refuse access to authentically purchased OS. In any case my main question was about 1) removing an NVida Add that opens up my browser when WindowsXP startsup?
2) Why must I have the Security Center Open everytime WindowsXP Startsup? These two questions have nothing to do with the authenticity of my OS.

The Authenticity question came up because I allowed Microsoft to download some XML scripts which "Identified my OS erroneously" and I wanted to remove that software. I know better than to let Microsoft download an anything on to my machine. You erroneously, assumed that because I obtained my OS from a friend who works in computers it was illegal or un-authentic and license is
not paid for.

We aren't policing any MS codes but we do enforce our Forum Rules for not supporting pirated or copied Operating Systems. We have no way of knowing if yours is legit or not, only your word that MS "Identified my OS erroneously". It may be genuine but it may not be allowed to be installed on your machines within the EULA. Only MS can sort that issue.

Use the following link to id the Startup item using msconfig.

http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php

You can disable the Security Center by going to run>services.msc, double click on Security Center and change it from Automatic to Disable. Or you can open SC from the Control Panel and select each area causing the nags and select that you will monitor these areas yourself.

Kevin is not a pcmech moderator although he does state our policy.

Getting a copy of XP from a 'friend' is not legal.

Rule 9 states:
Quote:
Zero Tolerance on Piracy
NO WAREZ. NO SERIALS. NO CRACKS / CRACKING / ILLEGAL PROGRAMS. Anything that can be used in software piracy or other illegal software activities will result in a ban. Same goes for abusive programs like mailbombers, forum and usenet flooders and email harvesting bots. This also includes unreleased products. Workarounds which comprimise security, bypass password protection, or otherwise go to gain unauthorized access to private data or information is prohibitied. Links provided to locations that offer tutorials or tips for any of these activities are also forbidden.
