HP Laptop XP reinstall
Hp laptop with dead harddrive. XP was installed XP sticker w/ser number on bottom. No recovery disc or anything. Want to install new HD and XP. Do I have to get recovery disc or can I just install XP and use the originial ser # and then contact Microsoft for activation? Not sure what license agreement entails.
Thanks Randy |

I have used an OEM disk and the original CD key a number times and activated with no problems. Do you know anyone with an OEM copy of XP?
All you will need to do after the install is go to the HP site and download some of the more specific drivers, some of the hardware will be OK with Windows native drivers.
