xp-pro
one of my computers is one I built when I was working for a company and it was used at work so it does have the corp edition on it, and now I feel I should install a retail version in its place,
there is a lot of softwarw on this system that I don't want to spend several days reinstalling. can I buy the oem xp-pro from newegg and do a reinstall repaire on this system and use the cd key from the new cd to finish the install? I just don't feel right to continue using the old O/S sence the company does not exist anymore. |

Can't mix OEM cd keys with Retail versions......During installations.
I'm pretty sure you could simply use Magic Jelly Bean for example and change the key code. (provided you get a retail copy - although the oem version might work)

Just read on another site where a guy had an illegal copy of XP...The Magic Kelly Bean idea didn't help him....
He did report back and say that the following did work: The Get Genuine Kit gives you a cost-effective solution to help them get legal, deepen your customer relationship, and be there as a trusted advisor. http://bink.nu/Article8072.bink |

well I went all through the information and it looks like this install does not qualify for any of the necessary parameters at all.
1. it is not a retail version 2. it is not a illegal copy 3. it is not a pirated cd 4. it is a legal install of the corp edition by the company IT (me) so it looks like I will just buy the OEM and do the format install and destroy the corp cd. |
