Windows 98 Problems
My OP System is 98-
I recently installed DSL, as well as an Ethernet Card Manufacture is AOPEN. MY system no longer automatically shuts off. When I press the shut down button it will go into restart. Also the system keeps saying that "it has found new hardware- The Ethernet Card and is locating the software for it. It does this eventhough the Ethernet Card has already been installed. I have down loaded and used the latest version of Registry Mechanic but this has not solved the problem My processor is AmD K-500 Socket 7 (old I know) |

The drivers for the Ethernet card are either the wrong version or are not correctly installed.
You need to go into the bios and disable wake on lan (WOL). |
