Windows XP - OEM "qualifying proof of purchase"

I (hopefully) have finally decided on a laptop, but it has vista business. *gasp*. Anyways, Im thinking of triple booting Vista, XP Pro, and Ubuntu. I saw on neweggs website, though, something about "qualifying proof of purchase" eg receipts for a motherboard, proc, and memory. The laptop im buying has all of these things, but I'm not sure this is what they are looking for. Do I have to buy retail?

I thought it was most anything counted like a cheap cable connector.

I usually just take a small usb mouse with me, if I need to buy OEM software. This qualifies for the purchase.

Looks like New egg has gotten big enough to have to worry about bending the rules, I know that you used to be able to buy a 99 cent cable splitter to qualify for OEM OS puchases casue I have done it myslelf but now they are asking for ..

"Qualifying proof of purchase must be recent receipts showing the purchase of a mother board, hard drive, RAM and a CPU. The components can be on multiple receipts; not necessarily all on one receipt nor on the same receipt as the qualifying Windows XP/Office 2003 that you purchased."

And to answer your specific question, I believe purchasing a pre built PC is not going to show the purchase of each item they require so would not not qualify.
