Start Up/ Msconfig???
hEY, ALL! in msconfig / startup is there anything in there that i should concern myself with that will effect the operation and stable running of my pc? The reason for this question is that all i want to do is to get it to boot up quicker and not have to wait for everything to load. Can i UNcheck everything in startup or is there stuff i should leave checked? I am already OClocking the FSB and it is running stable and cool. I guess i'm one of those people that is always looking to squezz just a little more out of it where ever i can. If anyone has any tips for me i would really like to here from you....THANKS

In the WinXP msconfig/Startup window I think you could uncheck everything if you wanted to. WinXP's main critical functions aren't listed in there...the services are managed through Computer Management.

Here's a good source to investigate each item in your StartUp tab. They tell you whether an item is necessary, optional or a waste of resources.

It just happened again! so i rebooted the pc went into admin tools, event viewer, apps and it states at that tine there was a warning and the apps name was norton antivirus. I then checked the list down to where it happened last and low and behold the same app. name. I think i found my problem so i think i'm gonna remove NAV and use AVG as i use it on my other pc'c. I hope this is my solution///

Use the Symantec Removal Tool from their website.
