When I turn my computer on it boots up and I get started with what I have to do then the damn thing starts to reboot again. This goes on and on until I get fed up with it and turn it off. Can anyone help with a solution that I can do to stop this or will I need to take it to the service centre? It is only 18 months old.

If you are running XP with SP2, tap the F8 key during the boot up until you get the Safe Mode and other boot options. There should be a choice to Turn off the Auto Restart on Error feature. This will allow the system to display a blue screen (bsod) with an error message. Post the error message here and we'll help you diagnose the problem.

Check the front panel On/Off switch, it might be shorted.
