XP Setup Problem *urgent*
When I try installing XP on my friends old computer, the installation gets to 33 percent and then gives a blue screen of death.
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/1386/dsc00665ge9.jpg It has Win ME on it right now, but trying to update to XP. Not sure what's wrong.. He's got 2 HDD's, Both western digital and the whole computer was built by A Open, if that helps. I think almost everything in it was made by A Open.. Any Suggestions? Should have gone with vista...
![]() if sysaudio is the problem try disabling/removing all sound cards and see what happens. P.S. I also think you have something very special: The last computer with ME installed.

First off, you will be a lot happier if you save all of this person's data to an external drive then format and start with a clean install of XP.
Upgrades from ME are usually messy. Also, it may be wise to download the hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic programs and check the drive before proceeding. -Kev
