Recovering the encrypted file in XP
Hi I have read quite a few threads about this kind of problems. Couldnt find a solid solution for the question I am looking for.
I had an encrypted word file on my laptop and had kept a back up of the same in an external HDD. But I never knew anything about the certificates and stuff about file encryption.... Recently I formated my C drive and reinstalled the OS (XP Pro). However, now I am not able to open the file either from my computer's D Drive (partition) or from the external HDD. I cant copy it also from either source to anywhere. It gives me an access denied error. It had some confidential information in it and I never knew that I had to save the certificates. Do you guys think if I have any hope of getting my file back? I tried Advanced EFS Data Recovery v3.0 to recover the encrypted file. But it couldn't do the job either. Any help would be appreciated. |
