The Welcome Screen does not show

I want my computer to show the Welcome screen when I press a key to wake the machine up after it has gone on standby. It was working fine before, but now when it goes on standby and I press a key to wake the computer up, the Welcome screen does not show and prompt me for my password. Instead, it just goes to exactly what I was working on when I left it.

In Power Options the box that says "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby..." is in fact checked.

I don't know why it's not going to the Welcome screen like I want. Any ideas? I'm using Windows XP Professional SP 2.

Go to Control Panel>User Accounts>Change the Way Users Log On or Off. Make sure both of the options in there are checked ("Use Welcome Screen" and "Use Fast User Switching").

Those option are already checked. But I've been doing some experimenting and I've discovered a few things. When I'm logged on as Administrator so far it appears that everything is working okay(although I haven't fully tested), but when I'm logged on as
my Limited Account my screensaver does not always come on.

I set the screensaver to come on after the following intervals:

5 min
10 min
15 min
20 min
25 min

The screensaver did successfully come on after 5, 10, and 15 min. But when I set it to come on after 20 min it did not. Also, when I set it to come on after 25 min it did not.

Yet as I said above, I logged on as Administrator and set the screensaver to come on after 30 min and it did.

So beats me why I'm having some screensaver issues when I'm logged in as Limited Account.

Why mess about with screensavers, go for the option to turn screen off after a period, saves screen and power, helping global warming!

To turn screen off after a period? Never heard of that option. But my system seems to be functioning correctly now. I went into Acronis and hit the Recover button to restore my entire system and then reloaded a few programs. Seems to be okay now.
